No action is required on your part, other than to be aware and prepared to present your International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and Bank Identifier Code (BIC) when asked by a party to whom you are giving an authorization to debit your account. This information will likely be needed when you initiate a direct debit to automatically pay utility, phone, or insurance bills; such as when setting up an Automatic Bill Payment, or when initiating a One-Time Euro Bill Payment. You will also need this information for single and repeating Online Euro Bill Payments. The provisions of SEPA allow you to now use these services to make payments throughout the Eurozone.
